Will October be a good time to buy?

One of the prime times of the year to purchase a home is often considered to be in early to mid October. As we edge closer to that date, here’s a quick look at how things stand.

New listings were up 0.7% compared with last year – but this is lowest increase since April. Active inventory increased by 19.5% year-over-year. However, homes are spending 8 days longer on the market than in 2024.

The median listing price nationwide remained the same for the fourth week in a row.

Analysts believe that many homeowners will continue to remove their listings from the market rather than take a price cut.
