Gen X – those born between 1965 and 1982 – although only representing 19% of the US population, currently account for 24% of recent homebuyers according to a new report by the National Association of Realtors. In fact, nearly 60% of Gen Xers own their own homes.
While many have record equity in their homes, a 54% are financially supporting family members – either a parent or a child, many feel locked in to their current housing situation even though they might want a larger home to accommodate multi-generational living
