Housing bill on hold

As of June 24, 2026, the bipartisan housing bill passed by Congress is on hold, per President Trump, as he won’t sign it until Congress passes the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

The housing bill – 21st Century Road to Housing Act – was passed by the House 358-32 and the Senate 85-5.

While the bill includes 45 provisions, the main thrust is to increase housing production amidst a massive nationwide shortfall.
