Home prices are being cut here

While the focus tends to be on the difficulties facing home buyers, home sellers are up against it as well. High mortgage rates and the increase in listings mean that many homeowners are being forced to cut their original asking price.

These three metro areas lead the way in the percentage of homes slashing their prices (percentage follows city name).

  1. Tamps, FL – 28.6%
  2. Jacksonville, FL – 27.3%
  3. Charlotte, NC – 19.4%

Overall, 16.6% of May 2024 listings nationwide have reduced their original listing price.
