While the housing market remains so-so in most of the country, Florida is seeing an unprecedented increase in homes on the market with 168,717 new listings in February alone, an increase of close to 40% from just one year ago.
Two cities on the Gulf Coast – Sarasota and Bradenton – are emerging as strong markets for buyers with rising inventory and falling prices. Sarasota has seen drop from $725,000 in July 2023 to $575,000 in January of this year. Likewise, Bradenton homes typically cost around $432,000, down almost $100,000 from just 18 months ago.
