Fewer foreigners buying U.S. homes

According to a recent report by the National Association of Realtors, the number of residential properties in the United States bought by international buyers dropped by 31 percent between April 2020 and March 2021. The total value of the purchases declined by 27 percent. This marks the lowest dollar and sales volume since 2011.

Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic severely limited foreigners from visiting the United States.

Florida was the top makret for foreign buyers for the 13th straight year with 21 percent of international purchases, followed by California (16 percent), Texas (9 percent), Arizona (5 percent ) and New York and New jersey (4 percent).
