Delisting – taking a home off the market – increased by 41% year to date while new listings declined as they have for every month since April. In fact, for every house that came on the market, one was taken off.
Pending home sales – market listings under contract – declined for the eighth straight month.
The national median list price in August was essentially steady at $429,990, showing, once again, that many sellers are more likey to take their home off the market rather than lower the asking price.
