California home prices down… slightly

As 2025 came to an end, home prices declined in 14 of the 16 metro areas (88%) in California as opposed to the rest if the country which saw reductions in only 36% of the measured metros.

While the declines were minimal – Stockton had the largest drop at 4% – it’s important to note that as recently as March 2025 there were no decreases in any California metro area.
